IRISH COAST GUARDS SELECTS EMEX

August 2007, Dublin, Ireland:

The Irish Coast Guards (IRCG) has selected Emex to provide an Automated Audit and Risk Assessment System (AARAS) to manage compliance with health and safety legislation, and control operational risk.

The IRCG is the nation-wide marine emergency organisation and is a division of the Department of Transport. It has delegated responsibility for marine emergency management in the Ireland Search and Rescue (SAR) Region and the Irish Pollution Response Zone. This includes SAR, pollution control, salvage and wreck, safety awareness and provision of a national marine communications system.

The IRCG employs over 75 full-time staff and over 850 volunteer staff in 60 locations around the country.

IRCG will implement the following Emex modules:


news sml      Risk Management – manage operational risk via a central risk register, implement common set of practices and controls, remove duplication of data and improve visibility via real time reporting and analysis.

news sml      Site Audit & Inspections – improve control by gathering data recorded on all audits and inspections, including findings and corrective actions, into a single database. Emex Audits provides a configurable framework that can be tailored to mirror your own specific audit process and rules.

news sml      Accidents & Incidents – record and manage detailed accident and incidents information. Workflow and reporting capabilities ensure management effectively stay in control, monitor trends and take appropriate actions.

news sml      Training Manager – maintain a single training register for all personnel, schedule courses, monitor certificate expiry dates and plan reassessment training. Utilise workflow and reporting to ensure all staff are adequately trained for the tasks they are required to perform.
